Bees by Rad Smith

Look! Our storm-thrashed garden,
that parade of ants tottering
about on high heels waving rose
petal parasols: the same petals
in which yesterday I watched bees,
one after another — bandy legs
glittering with gold —
enjoy themselves, and which
tomorrow at breakfast
will blossom on your lips.
