I’m Nobody! Who are you? by Emily Dickinson

I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don’t tell! they’d advertise – you know!

How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one’s name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!

Emily Dickinson
1830–1886

    HELLO RUSSELL…

    SUCH A BEAUTIFUL POEM … LOVE THE IMAGES THAT DICKINSON USES.

    IT REMINDS ME OF “THE ODYSSEY” WHEN ULYSSES ASKS POLIFEMO “WHO HE IS” AND HE ANSWERS HIM THAT HE IS “NOBODY”…

    WELL …I GUESS WE ARE ALL “EVERYBODY AND NOBODY” AT THE SAME TIME, DON´T YOU THINK?…

    THANKS FOR SHARING AND BEST WISHES FOR YOU;

    AQUILEANA 🙂
